Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett revolutionized college football on Saturday night in the ACC Championship, but some didn’t like it.

A fake slide, you say? Why not?

In college football, quarterbacks are meant to be declared down when they enter a sliding motion. So, you can imagine Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson was upset when Pickett did this for Pitt’s first touchdown of the game.

Sure, the crying isn’t a good look, but technically there is a rule which could have prevented Wake Forest from falling behind on the first drive of the game.

Nonetheless, it turned into Pickett’s Heisman moment, but Pittsburgh media found a way to ruin it. Yes, it’s Mark Madden time.

Kenny Pickett answered Mark Madden in one word

Oh wow, cheat you say? Yeah, Pickett isn’t impressed.

Whether his fake slide was intentional or not, it was genius. The Wake Forest defender should’ve finished the play.

And….argument over.

Madden is well-known in Pittsburgh media for his outlandish takes, which are fired with a startling consistency. In fact, you almost have to respect the man.

Pickett, meanwhile, is likely to be invited to the Heisman ceremony in New York City while Madden is watching at home, complaining about his fake slide. You can be certain that play will be shown on repeat every time Pickett’s name is mentioned come Dec. 11.

Madden will be watching at home, finding a way to turn a monumental moment from the city’s premiere football program into a negative. It’s a spin he’s definitely capable of, I assure you.
