Embark Studios, a studio founded by former EA DICE employees, has teased that its first game will be revealed at The Game Awards later this week.
The game is called ARC Raiders, and the official announcement said that we're going to learn more on December 9. On Twitter, the new account posted a short teaser trailer for the project. It features a voiceover talking over a 1970s-like synthesizer soundtrack. The voice is calling for volunteers, followed by the tagline, "enlist. resist." You can watch the quick 20-second teaser below.

The Game Awards Twitter account retweeted the post, further teasing that the reveal is coming as part of this Thursday's event.
Back in 2018, former EA executive Patrick Söderlund opened Embark Studios with former DICE dev Johan Andersson. The studio received funding from a Japanese-Korean publisher of PC and mobile games, called Nexon.
At the time, Söderlund said the studio had, "mass-market, large-scale ambition with what we’re going to do," saying the team hoped to "design games that are very different from what’s currently available." We don't have to wait long to see the next step in Embark's vision, as the studio's inaugural game will finally be shown off this week. The studio started with just 15 to 20 employees, with a plan to grow to around 200.
DICE, of course, is known for developing the Battlefield franchise in addition to the two most recent Star Wars Battlefront games. It remains to be seen how much Battlefield influence there will be in ARC Raiders.
The Game Awards is set to take place on Thursday, December 9 at 4:30pm PT/7:30pm ET. If you want to check out all the reveals and awards for yourself, check out our guide on The Game Awards 2021, including how to watch, start time and announcements.
