Whether it be hanging memorable ornaments on the tree, or cozying up to watch a classic holiday film, Christmas is a time for tradition and nostalgia.
When it comes to Christmas movies, many classics from “The Santa Clause,” to “The Nightmare Before Christmas” to the remake of the “Miracle on 34th Street” were released in the 1990s, and have been enjoyed every year since throughout the United States.
While Massachusetts residents enjoy a variety of holiday traditions, the most popular 90s Christmas film is “Home Alone,” according to a new study from CenturyLinkQuote.
In the film, Kevin McCallister has to defend his house from goofy thieves when he is accidentally left behind from a family trip. Not only is this comedy enjoyed in Massachusetts, but it was also named the most popular in all of the country, coming in first place in 14 states including Illinois, where the movie is set.

All of these movies are available on Disney+,” except for “Jack Frost” which is available on HBO Max.
In order to conduct this study, CenturyLinkQuote compiled a list of the 60 most popular ‘90s Christmas movies based on data gathered from PopSugar, Bustle, Ranker and ScreenRant. Then, they determined each movie’s search volume on Semrush and plugged in the 13 most searched shows into Google Trends to see which film was googled most by each state in the past 12 months.
