Washington Wizards' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope played his best game of the season despite not being at his 100%.

From the get go, the Wizards seem to have nothing going down well on Sunday's 102-99 loss to the Toronto Raptors, and Washington's Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was probably the lone happy camper that night.

KCP came in a little banged up but still managed to put on quite a remarkable performance for the Wizards, having finished the game with 26 points in 28 minutes of basketball.

Reflecting on his best-scoring game by far, the man himself stressed that despite having discomfort, the only way to do it is just to go all out on the floor.

“You just gotta try to gut it out,” Caldwell-Pope said via NBC Sports. “You’ve got to try to find that energy from somewhere and try to finish the game. Just do your job and do what you can do out there. Just give it all you’ve got until you can’t give it no more. We talk about effort so much, it’s a big part of how we play the game.”

Caldwell-Pope is one of the most consistent players in the current Wizards squad, having played in every single game so far this season. Atop that, he has also reached double digits in points per outing and now has 14 double-digit games to date.

But aside from being reliable on the offensive end, Caldwell-Pope is also working on his defense.

“I try to continue to do that consistently, just play within the flow of the game and not force anything,” he stated. “I know my defense is going to be there, that’s what I lean on every night just to get my offensive game going. Just the flow of the game and trying to be consistent with that.”
