The 'Money Heist' Easter Egg You (Probably) Missed From Season 5 Part 2

The heist is over, and the Professor and his crew of bank robbers have gotten through their final ordeal in Money Heist.

Season 5 Part 2 of the show was released on Friday, December 3 and fans have been excitedly binge-watching it ever since.

But they may have missed a key cameo in the final season, which was featured in Episode 8, titled "Elegance Theory".

The Easter Egg you (probably) missed

As well as focusing on the heist itself, the Spanish crime drama's final season also had flashbacks that explained how Berlin (Pedro Alonso) came to introduce his son Rafael (Patrick Criado) to the world of thievery.

This storyline comes to a head in Episode 8 when it is revealed that Rafael and Berlin's fifth wife Tatiana (Diana Gómez) have fallen in love, and she was leaving him in favor of his son.

Rather than accept the breakup, Berlin goes to the hotel where the new couple meet following their split, and he confronts his son.

When he enters the hotel, Berlin finds Rafael in the bar and he is completely enraptured by the musician on stage, who is singing a rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Franki Valli.

This singer is in fact Cecilia Krull, the woman who sings the show's theme tune "My Life Is Going On."

The theme tune's composer Manel Santisteban also appeared in the scene and accompanied Krull on piano.

Krull's rendition of the song has been released as part of the show's official soundtrack, as has her version of the song "Grândola, Vila Morena" which was originally performed by Zeca Afonso.

The scene in Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel in Spanish, culminates in Berlin destroying the hotel bar out of anger over his son and ex-wife's betrayal, leading to his first ever arrest.

In an interview with Riveting Riffs, Krull spoke fondly of her success thanks to the theme tune, saying it was "a dream come true."

She said: "I never expected that success and worldwide. It's crazy. All of my life I have been a singer and I grew up in a musicians' family, so this is a very huge thing. It is like the difference before and after La Casa de Papel.

"I am not famous, but the song is famous. I am traveling all around the world. Many people in many countries know about me, because of the song.

"Personally, I am the same. I am a mother, I am a sister, I am a daughter, I am a friend, and I am a lover. I am the same person as I was when I wrote the lyrics and when I (recorded) the song."

Money Heist Season 1 to 5 is available to stream now on Netflix.
