Stylist Kate Young, who’s starry client base includes Dakota Johnson, Sienna Miller and Margot Robbie, is behind the weekend’s most glamorous look, which came from Jennifer Lawrence. Like Dakota, J Law’s tastes lie at the sparklier end of the scale—Young previously told Vogue “Dakota wants to be a disco ball” on the red carpet—evidenced by the shimmering Dior gown and Tiffany & Co. jewels that she wore to the premiere of Netflix’s Don’t Look Up.
The head-turning look represented a spectacular return to the red carpet for Lawrence, who is pregnant with her first child. As a Dior ambassador—a position she assumed in 2012—she gets first dibs on new season pieces. The sweeping embellished dress, part of Maria Grazia Chiuri‘s spring 2022 collection, draped perfectly over her bump, and the Tiffany “Flame” earrings were reminiscent of her Hunger Games days as Katniss Everdeen.
Dior has supplied gowns for Lawrence’s glitziest appearances over the years. At the 2018 Oscars, she memorably climbed over rows to reach her seat wearing a strapless sequined Dior gown, wine glass in hand. And lest we forget her most relatable moment at the awards ceremony five years earlier, when she tripped on her way up the steps to collect her Oscar in a cloud-like pale pink Dior gown.
Style-wise, little has changed since J Law revealed her pregnancy. By day, she favors minimalist pieces from The Row, Dries Van Noten and Frankie Shop. Her evening wear approach is similarly understated – albeit with a touch of glitter.
