Panorama grapplers second at Treynor Saturday

TREYNOR, Iowa — The Panorama wrestlers scored 136 points to place second in the 11-team Treynor Invitational Saturday.

The hosts won the event with 218.5 points, with OABCIG third at 133.5 points.

Panorama senior Cooper Andersen, ranked third in Class 1A at 220, had little trouble in winning his division. He finished with pins in 57, 30 and 42 seconds, respectively.

Lane Christe (106 pounds) was second with a 2-1, with both wins by pin. Maddox Nunn (126) was second with a pin and a 1-1 mark, Cayden Van Meer (145) was second at 2-1 with two pins and a narrow 9-7 loss in Sudden Victory 1, with Keyton Van Gundy second at 182 with a pin and a 1-1 outing.

Placing third at 120 pounds was Landon Kirtley. He finished with a 3-1 record, tallying two pins and an 8-1 decision.

Will Knapp (132) was third at 2-2 with two pins, with heavyweight Joel Cooper third with two pins and a 2-1 effort.

Emmett King wrestled at 160, and Colby Waltz and Gabe Wagner both at 170. The trio were unable to record a victory in their respective matches.

The Panthers did not have entrants at 113, 138, 152 or 195.

Panorama joins Earlham and Van Meter for a quadrangular at West Central Valley Tuesday before making their annual trip to the Central Decatur Invitational Friday.
