IVE Yujin's Stylist Draws Criticism for Female Idol's 'Music Core' Outfit: Is Yujin's Outfit Too Sexy for a Minor?

IVE Yujin's outfit sparked a debate among people whether her outfit was too much for a minor. In particular, the rookie group's leader is born in 2003, and during her debut showcase through MBC's "Show! Music Core," her outfit that resembled a woman's bra caught attention. 

Controversy arose over the stage costume of Ahn Yujin, a member of the rookie group, IVE.

On December 4, the six-member group appeared on MBC's "Show! Music Core," wherein they introduced their debut single, "ELEVEN."

In the broadcast, both visuals and skills of the member drew positive reactions; however, Yujin's outfit didn't sit well with some viewers.

During the episode, Ahn Yujin appeared wearing a black shirt and a short skirt of the same color. Although it seems normal for an idol, the difficult part was the layered outfit on a black shirt.

Looking at the blue top, internet users raised that attention that it looked like a woman's bra because the wire hook was on the outside.

As a result, some expressed displeasure with the outfit that appealed too sexy for a minor, as Yujin is only 18 years old. At the same time, concerned fans asked their agency Starship Entertainment to correct it.

"Do you have to dress up like underwear to minors?" "I'm shy to see this," "Who's the coordinator?" "It looks like underwear," "I thought it wasn't pretty," "Isn't she a minor?" "I hope it's a minor," "It doesn't look good," most netizens responded.

On the flip side, some defended the stylist and Yujin's outfit, such as "There are quite a few stage costumes like that," "It's not that strange," and "It doesn't even look like underwear."

IVE Members Praised Yujn's Professionalism as the Group's Leader

Despite being a minor, Yujin played the role and was one of the eldest members of the recently launched group, IVE.

In MBC FM4U's "Good Morning FM Jang Sung Kyu," which aired on the morning of December 6, DJ Jang asked Ahn Yujin if she had any difficulty playing the role of a leader.

"The position of a leader was burdensome at first, but now it helps me a lot. I'm working hard to help the members," the former IZ*ONE member responded.

Gaeul then commended how good Yujin as a leader is and said, "Yujin is usually cute, but she is strict when practicing choreography."

 "Yujin was surprised to see that when she saw the fancam and told me what to modify," Rei, a Japanese member added.

Meanwhile, IVE released its debut single "ELEVEN" on the 1st and is active as the title song of the same name.
