Superior Grill, a Baton Rouge favorite, is planning a Lafayette location at the former site of Randol's, Scout Real Estate Co. announced on Facebook.

Randol's, a Cajun and seafood restaurant, closed its doors in late November after 50 years in business. The restaurant stood at 2320 Kaliste Saloom Road.

“We’ve been looking at the Lafayette market for several years. When the Randol’s Property came available, we decided now was the time to expand into Lafayette,” Phil Barbaree said in a press release.

Superior Grill has locations in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Birmingham, Alabama. The restaurant has two locations in Baton Rouge, with the first opening in 1991. The Shreveport location was the brand's first, opening in 1983.

The restaurant is known for its Mexican food and margaritas.
