ST. PETERSBURG — A woman died Sunday afternoon after she drove into the back of a parked tractor-trailer, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Just before noon, a tractor-trailer owned by A&B Moving Solutions was stopped in the north curb lane of 1st Avenue North, in the 4700 block. The driver of the tractor-trailer had made a delivery at a house on the street, then picked up his reflective triangles and got back into the cab.

He was getting ready to pull away, with his emergency flashers still on, when a 2012 Nissan drove into the back of the tractor-trailer. Police do not know why the woman, Stephine Ambrose, 31, drove into the trailer, and no skid marks were found on the road.
