Mario Cristobal is reportedly leaving Oregon football to become Miami’s next head coach. Who could replace him in Eugene?

Rumors are swirling today about Mario Cristobal and the Miami job. Manny Diaz is still officially the head coach, but there’s a strong feeling that he will be fired after the season and replaced with the Oregon football coach.

As of right now, these are just rumors and reports that have yet to be declared official and there’s even more confusion because Cristobal showed up for his Zoom meeting after being named to the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma. He met with Bob Stoops and talked about the opportunity but didn’t field any questions from reporters.

Let the confusion commence.

Sources are saying that he has been offered and there’s an overwhelming feeling that he has agreed to go back home and coach his alma mater, but nothing is official yet.

Miami fans are hoping that this is true and it comes to fruition because Diaz has worn out his welcome in just a couple of years. Oregon fans are hoping there’s no truth to these rumors and Cristobal remains in Eugene, but there’s so much uncertainty right now.

But if Cristobal is to bolt for Miami, who could the Ducks target?
