With Jalen Hurts on the sideline for the Philadelphia Eagles Week 13 matchup against the New York Jets, Gardner Minshew took over duties under center. And he did not disappoint. Minshew was incredibly accurate as he guided the Eagles to a 33-18 win, prompting reporters to ask head coach Nick Sirianni as to the future at quarterback in Philly.
Via Mike Garafolo, Sirianni was asked after the game whether he believes Hurts is still his quarterback going forward. Sirianni ruled out any doubt regarding Hurts' role with the team, saying “Yeah, of course.”

Sirianni did add, however, that he couldn't confirm whether or not the second-year quarterback would be available to suit up in Week 15 after the Eagles' bye, though he believes the 23-year-old will be ready.
Minshew was excellent for in Hurts' absence on Sunday. The backup filled in admirably en route to completing 20-of-25 pass attempts for 242 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Minshew didn't throw a single interception in the game, showcasing his ability to limit mistakes, something Hurts has struggled with recently.
Despite the memorable outing from the beloved Minshew, Sirianni is still confident that Hurts is the quarterback of the future in Philadelphia. As previously mentioned, the Eagles have the week off, so Hurts will get some more time to rest and recover ahead of a big Week 15 battle with the rival Washington Football Team, a game which could have huge implications on both teams' playoff hopes.
In the meantime, Minshew will keep grinding as always and be ready if called upon to suit up in Week 15.
