The Boston College football team has found out which bowl game it is heading to, while the participants in the inaugural Wasabi Fenway Bowl have also been announced.BC will face East Carolina University in the Military Bowl in Annapolis, Maryland — the hometown of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.Boston College (6-6) will be making its first bowl game appearance under Head Coach Jeff Hafley, who is in his second season. It will be the 19th bowl game appearance for the Eagles over the past 23 seasons.The East Carolina Pirates (7-5) finished fourth in the American Athletic Conference, marking ECU's most successful season since 2014.The Military Bowl is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 27. Kickoff at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.Two days later, Southern Methodist University and the University of Virginia will play in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, the first college football bowl game to be played at Fenway Park, the historic home of the Boston Red Sox.The SMU Mustangs (8-4) finished sixth in the AAC after going 4-4 in conference play.The Virginia Cavaliers (6-6) finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference's Coastal Division after going 4-4 in ACC play.Kickoff for the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, the first Division I bowl game to be held in New England, is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29.Both the Military Bowl and the Wasabi Fenway Bowl will be broadcast on ESPN.
