A search began Wednesday by West Virginia Parole with support from the Morgan County Sheriff's Department for a wanted parole violator and felon, Jentry A. Meade, Jr., 30, according to a press release from Sheriff KC Bohrer

Efforts to locate and apprehend Meade had been underway in both West Virginia and Virginia by Parole, Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and Frederick County, (VA) Sheriff’s Department for several weeks.

Bohrer said a traffic stop occurred on a vehicle Meade was in near South Morgan Volunteer Fire Department by Parole Officer Lease, Sheriff Bohrer, Lt. Place and Deputy Hedrick.

Meade fled on foot and was pursued by officers into a wooded area southeast of the fire department. Visual contact with Meade was lost.

A perimeter was established and assistance requested from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 5 and West Virginia State Police, police said.

Four Berkeley County Deputies responded to assist, including Deputy Merson and his K9 partner. The search continued for some time without locating Meade in the heavily wooded area.

Police said information was developed later that Meade had returned to an area he had been frequenting in north Frederick County near the West Virginia, Virginia line.

This information was followed up on and Meade was located and arrested by Frederick County Virginia Sheriff’s Department after another foot pursuit.

Meade is currently incarcerated in the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center on a West Virginia hold for warrants and also charges filed in Virginia, according to Bohrer. Additional charges will be sought in Morgan County.

One Morgan County Deputy was injured in the pursuit requiring medical treatment, Bohrer said.
