Donald Trump Jr. Backs Father's Latest General Milley Broadside

Donald Trump Jr. has backed his father after he branded General Mark Milley a "f***ing idiot" in what was his latest swipe at the high profile military official.

Trump Jr. shared a video on social media of Trump mocking Joint Chiefs Chairman Army Gen. Milley during an impromptu speech at his Mar-a-Lago resort, in Florida, on Saturday.

The former President drew cheers from the crowd after he hit out at Gen. Milley and commented on the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August.

In his speech, the senior Trump bemoaned the number of U.S. equipment that was left behind during the botched effort to leave the country.

"You think it's cheaper to leave it there so they can have it than it is to fill up with a half tank of gas and fly it into Pakistan or fly it back to our country," Trump said.

While mocking Gen. Milley by impersonating him, Trump added: "Yes, sir, we think it's cheaper."

The former President then said: "What's when I realized he was a f***ing idiot."

Sharing a video of his father's speech on Twitter on Sunday, Trump Jr. commented: "Where's the lie? After 20 years in Afghanistan Millet [sic] essentially 'couldn't have seen this coming.'

"After 20 years you'd have to be a moron...literally any boots on the ground guy saw it coming but not him. He was too busy studying CRT [critical race theory] to worry about winning wars."

Newsweek has contacted the U.S. Department of Defense for comment.

The former president's attack on Gen. Milley is not the first time he has lambasted the most senior U.S. military official.

He previously fired a barb at Gen. Milley after a report said he had spoken to his Chinese counterpart General Li Zuocheng in October 2020 and January 2021 to assure him the U.S. would not attack China and if there was to be an attack that he would be informed.

According to The Washington Post, the former commander-in-chief said in a September statement: "Milley never told me about calls being made to China. From what I understand, he didn't tell too many other people either. He put our country in a very dangerous position but President Xi knows better and would've called me.

"The way Milley and the Biden Administration handled the Afghanistan withdrawal, perhaps the most embarrassing moment in our Country's history, would not exactly instill fear in China. Milley is a complete nutjob," the statement went on.

Trump Jr. has also launched his own attacks against Gen. Milley after GOP figures said the military was becoming "woke."

In a June 26 Instagram post, Trump Jr. shared a photoshopped image of Gen. Milley which showed him with pink hair, an LGBTQ+ flag and a Black Lives Matter patch on his uniform.

The photo further mocked Gen. Milley with a fake quote, which read: "I don't know why everyone keeps saying the Army is 'woke.' I'm offended."
