Birdsboro American Legion post aids veterans in Reading

Birdsboro American Legion Post 626 served a waffle breakfast Saturday to veterans at the Paul R. Gordon Veteran Social Center in Reading.

Members of the post have been serving breakfast at the center a few times a year since it opened in October 2017. They also presented Liz and Doug Graybill of Veterans Making A Difference with a monetary donation for the organization, which runs the center.

The participants included a new Legion member, United States of America Ms. Pennsylvania 2022 Brianne Houck. The Birdsboro resident own the title on Oct. 24. She attended the U.S. Military Academy and is an army veteran. She posed for pictures with the veterans at the breakfast.

The Paul R. Gordon Veteran Social Center, located at the ground floor of the Hope Rescue Mission at Sixth and Greenwich streets. Veterans Making A Difference welcomes groups to come in and serve a meal there. If interested, please contact Liz Graybill at 484-577-6898.
