Every Time I Die and Keith Buckley Now “Working on Things Privately”

Every Time I Die and their singer Keith Buckley are now “working on things privately” after an inner-band feud spilled onto social media earlier this week, according to a new statement issued by the band. In a separate statement, Buckley confirmed he’ll perform at the band’s annual ‘Tid the Season shows in their hometown of Buffalo, NY next week.

The band’s statement reads:

“We apologize to the fans this weekend for the cancelation of the remaining 3 shows of the Radical tour.

“Keith Buckley is a crucial member of Every Time I Die and we apologize if our previous statement made it seem as if he was in recovery or came off as insensitive to the issues at hand. We are working on things privately now.

“Please give us a moment.

“And we will all see you at Tid The Season.”

Buckley then quote-tweeted the above, adding simply “I’ll be there.”

The current fracas began when Buckley revealed on social media that he would be taking some time off from the band to address his mental health. The band then confirmed the news and announced (in a since-deleted statement) that they planned to play the remaining shows of their in-progress tour as a four-piece. Just hours later, however, Buckely issued a statement of his own, claiming that the band had “ostracized” him since he gave up drinking, and alleging that he’d overheard his brother, guitarist Jordan Buckley, discussing plans to have the vocalist replaced. The so-called “ETID karaoke” shows to finish up the tour without Buckley were subsequently canceled, with a positive Covid-19 case amongst the tour’s openers, ’68, not helping matters.

Needless to say, it’s clear that a lot of what has gone on behind the scenes between band members has not been made public. We just hope they’re all able to work it out and get back to a comfortable place in time for their holiday shows (and beyond).
