Why The Jazz Can Cover The Spread

The Jazz are the better and more experienced team in this spot, hence them being favorites on the road. Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert is a very good 1-2 punch, as each player anchors one end of the floor for the Jazz. Gobert is one of if not the best defensive player in the league, and he helps make the Jazz' entire team better on that end of the floor. Mitchell does the same for the Jazz' offense, drawing attention and extra defenders, helping unlock Utah's offensive attack. The Jazz should be able to cover and win vs. Cleveland, even on the road. The Cavaliers have been playing spoiler all season however and will look to do so again on their home floor come Sunday afternoon.

The Jazz are 6-3 on the road this season, and 12-10 vs. the spread overall.

Why The Cavaliers Can Cover The Spread

Cleveland will need to ride their defense if they want to cover and/or win in this spot. The Cavaliers will likely not be able to keep pace with the Jazz if this turns into a shootout, so they likely want to play this one slow. Allen and Mobley should be able to neutralize the paint like they often do, but Utah may be fine with that as an elite three-point shooting team. The Cavaliers may be a trendy play on Sunday as they have won their last four games all by double-digits. Cleveland is finally healthy outside of Collin Sexton, so they may just be scratching the surface of what they can achieve this season. They could be in a good spot here getting points at home, but the Jazz are a tough opponent.

The Cavaliers are an impressive 16-5-2 against the spread this season, but are just 5-6 at home outright.

Final Jazz-Cavaliers Prediction & Pick

This is a tough call, but take the Jazz to win and cover in Cleveland on Sunday. The Cavaliers have been hot, but Utah should be able to take care of business in this one. The Jazz have scored 127 or more points in their last three games, and might just have too much offense for Cleveland to keep pace.

Final Jazz-Cavaliers Prediction & Pick: Jazz -4.5 (-114)
