Big Surprise: Biden And Fauci Skate Away Blameless With Policies And Terms That Were “Racist” Under Trump

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, the old saying goes.

It seems both President Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci are flattering former President Donald Trump by repeating his policies or words – and, surprisingly (not), the media is letting them get away with it.

The first instance was when Biden shut down travel from a handful of African nations last month.

As candidate Joe Biden, the now-46th president ripped Trump as racist and xenophobic for banning travel from China as the pandemic took root in America.

“We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus. We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency,” Biden tweeted in February 2020.

That same day, in response to the Trump administration’s effort to slow immigration from certain parts of Africa, Biden tweeted, “Trump further diminished the U.S. in the eyes of the world by expanding his travel ban. This new ‘African Ban,’ is designed to make it harder for black and brown people to immigrate to the United States. It’s a disgrace, and we cannot let him succeed.”

Now, Biden has blocked travel from at least eight countries in southern Africa because of the Omicron variant – with less justification than Trump as South African medical authorities have described omicron as less severe than other COVID strains – and none dare suggest he is racist for doing so.

Meanwhile, on Fox Business Channel on Friday, Fauci made a logical reference to the origin of the coronavirus.

“You hear me talk a lot about boosters, and the reason I do is that if you look at the vaccination, we were vaccinated against the original, what we call ‘ancestral’ or ‘Wuhan strain,’ yet when you get antibodies from that vaccination and when you get boosted, the level of protection spills over to delta, alpha, beta and very likely will spill over to omicron,” Fauci said.

Not so long ago such a comment was verboten – and met with claims of racism.

In February 2020, USA Today published a lengthy story explaining why it was wrong to say “China” or “Wuhan” virus. The piece noted that former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo used the term “Wuhan virus” five times within 16 minutes.

In response, USA Today reported, “Experts, lawmakers, and Asian American advocates, however, have advised against referring to the virus with a location-specific name to avoid ‘xenophobia’ against people of Asian descent.

“Democratic leaders of color slammed Trump’s use of ‘Chinese virus’ in a statement released Tuesday, imploring leaders to “stick to expert guidance and not spread xenophobia.”

Fauci used that term, and only conservatives noticed. No long pieces in USA Today’s chastising “America’s doctor” for his xenophobia.

As it’s been pointed out, if it werent for double standards, liberals would have no standards at all.
