Watch awkward moment Lineker and Richards joke about Alan Shearer’s feud with Michael Owen to Newcastle legend
GARY LINEKER and Micah Richards awkwardly joked about Alan Shearer's feud with Michael Owen in front of the Toon legend in a hilarious clip.
Lineker, Richards and Shearer appeared on the latest episode of their Match of the Day Top 10 podcast together.
And this time, they were naming the best XI from former team-mates during their playing careers.
And after Shearer controversially left David Ginola out of his side, the others accused the Premier League's record goalscorer of having an agenda against him - before referencing the bust-up with Owen.
Richards said: "He's looking after his mates here. You can't not have Ginola. Oh my word."
Lineker replied: "He's thinking about who is most likely to cross it to him.
"It's your team, I don't disagree at all. I think Graeme Le Saux is a lovely footballer, really good player... but Ginola."
Richards continued: "Something's happened there, behind the scenes.

"Something has happened between him and Alan. You know, not putting him in.
"There is an agenda with his team, I can see it already."
Shearer denied there being an agenda before Lineker quipped: "Let's see if Michael Owen gets in up front."
Richards added: "Yeah, I didn't want to mention it," before they both broke into giggles - although Shearer's reaction was out of the shot.
Shearer and Owen had been good friends and formed a formidable strike partnership for England.
But things turned sour at Newcastle.
The local legend was brought in as manager to try and save the club from relegation - but he could not do it and pinned much of the blame on Owen.
Owen, though, felt he was used as a scapegoat and Shearer's managerial failings let him down instead.
The pair were embroiled in a furious Twitter spat in 2019 as their tension went public.

Richards also cracked into his trademark laugh when Shearer confirmed his midfield pairing of Rob Lee and Tim Sherwood to compete against his own duo of Patrick Vieira and Yaya Toure.
