A man connected to a domestic dispute in Everett fled from officers Saturday morning before fatally shooting himself, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3600 block of 88th Street in Marysville. The vehicle was connected to a domestic dispute with a weapon Dec. 3 in Everett, troopers said.
When the emergency lights turned on the driver drove onto the northbound I-5 ramp at 88th Street, exited the car and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. Emergency crews pronounced the 35-year-old man dead at the scene.
The WSP said there was no pursuit of the vehicle and no officers discharged their weapons.
Authorities closed the onramp to northbound 88th Street NE until detectives are finished processing the scene.
