Desmond Howard and the College GameDay crew were in Atlanta on Saturday morning to preview the huge SEC Championship Game matchup between No. 1 Georgia and No. 3 Alabama.

Before GameDay began, Howard did a spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter, where he was asked who the most important player would be in the SEC title game.

Howard named Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean, explaining what makes him so important to the Bulldogs’ elite defense:

“Nakobe Dean, linebacker at Georgia,” Howard said. “Now, they are the No. 1 defense in the country, and this guy is one of the reasons why. He blitzes; he’s great in coverage. He’s the brains. He gets everybody lined up. He makes all the calls, and he’s very athletic.

“I think Bryce Young and Alabama is going to come in there with a game plan where they’re going to throw a lot of intermediate routes, and that’s going to be in Dean’s area. So, make sure you check out Nakobe Dean for Georgia.”

Dean is playing at an elite level this year, so he will certainly make things difficult for Alabama’s offense.

Can Georgia keep winning and keep its perfect season alive? We’ll find out at 4 p.m. Eastern time on CBS.
