The Washington Wizards lost to the Cleveland Cavs in disappointing fashion on Friday night. The Wizards allowed the Cavs to go on a 19-0 run en route to the 116-101 final score. Wizards star Bradley Beal sounded off on what went wrong in the blowout loss to the Cavs.

“It wasn’t really more what we did, they kind of just brought it to us and just hitting, hitting, hitting. That run was crazy, we couldn’t sustain it. Couldn’t get stops. Things kind of just combobulated on the defensive end. We weren’t doing anything like we were supposed to on the floor, granted, offensively we were missing shots but I think our quality of getting our shots up and our offense, we got off to a good start flow wise early on in the pace and stuff like that but that dwindled down pretty quickly. They were just living in the paint… We didn’t really make it tough on them the second or third quarter.”

Beal makes a good point here. He made sure to give credit to the Cavs, who really executed well on the offensive end, knocking down 47.2 percent of all shot attempts and 43.2 percent of three-pointers as a squad against the Wizards. Even the most capable offenses in the league would find it hard to keep pace with a team shooting the ball as well as Cleveland did Friday.

As the Wizards guard pointed out, the Cavs, mainly Jarrett Allen, lived in the paint, attacking the basket and getting easy buckets to fall. Beal himself wasn't in much of an offensive rhythm, as he shot just 6-for-17 from the field in the loss.

It's been a troubling stretch for Beal and the Wizards, as the All-Star guard has been held to 40 percent shooting or lower in each of the last three games, two of which have been losses for Washington.

Bradley Beal makes some good points about the Wizards' loss to the Cavs, though some better shooting on his part would go a long way towards getting Washington back on track. A favorable matchup against the Toronto Raptors, who have allowed Beal to score 20-plus in each of their meetings, awaits on Sunday.
