SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, MI – A Gladwin man was injured after an SUV rear-ended a horse-drawn buggy in Sheridan Township on Friday, Dec. 3.

Around noon, the Clare County Sheriff’s Office responded to the two-vehicle crash on Beaverton Road east of Hoover Road.

A white Buick Rendezvous driven by a 31-year Gladwin man crashed into the back of the eastbound buggy, police said in a news release.

Photos from the sheriff’s office show the buggy flipped on its side and the car sustained damage to its front bumper and headlight.

The 43-year-old buggy driver was transported to the hospital with injuries.

The horse was OK, undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski said.

Officials say alcohol was not a factor.

The crash remains under investigation by the Clare County Sheriff’s Office.
