Dakota Johnson oozes elegance in a cream wrap dress as she attends Deadline Contenders event

Dakota Johnson oozed elegance in a cream wrap dress as she attended the Deadline Contenders event in New York City on Saturday. 

The actress, 32, looked sensational in the figure hugging number which boasted a slit up the side. 

She was attending the event to promote her new film The Lost Daughter, which is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and stars Olivia Colman. 

The Fifty Shades Of Grey star paired the dress with black slip on heels as she made her way into the event. 

She had styled her long brunette locks into soft waves which fell over her shoulders. 

Highlighting her natural beauty, she wore a subtle layer of make up consisting of a slick of highlighter and rouged cheeks. 

Maggie was also in attendance at the event, and looked chic in black wide leg trousers and a blazer. 

Rocking the androgynous look, she completed the outfit with a black T-shirt and oxblood loafers.   

The Lost Daughter is a psychological drama written and directed by Maggie, and based on the novel of the same name by Elena Ferrante.

The anticipated movie had its world premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, where Maggie won the Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay.

The film also received a four-minute standing ovation from the audience at the Venice Film Festival.  

It tells the story of Olivia, as Leda, a college professor, who while on a summer holiday, finds herself becoming obsessed with another woman (Dakota) and her young daughter, prompting memories of her own early motherhood to come back and unravel her.

The Lost Daughter also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Paul Mescal, Ed Harris and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

The film will be released on Netflix on New Year's Eve after a two-week limited release in US movie theatres.

Lost Daughter takes place in an island in Greece.

As she made her way into the event, Dakota covered up her cream-colored dress with a black leather coat lined with a thick layer of fleece.

The Suspiria star stood tall in classic black pumps and wore a stylish set of sunglasses.

Maggie was joined by her husband Peter Sarsgaard, who looked dapper in a navy suit with a white and salmon striped shirt, along with a thick salt-and-pepper beard.
