Great Options
Jake Oettinger - Dallas Stars: The 22-year-old netminder has not played in a ton of games, but whenever he is between the pipes he posts great numbers. From November 20th through December 2nd Oettinger has notched four wins in his four starts. In three of those four games, Oettinger allowed just one goal. He has a perfect record of 5-0-0, along with a save percentage of .951 and a GAA of 1.41. The young goalie is showing all the signs of developing into elite goaltending talent and it will be interesting to see how long he can sustain his present momentum. The Dallas Stars have a busy week, as they will play the Arizona Coyotes, Vegas Golden Knights, Los Angeles Kings, and the San Jose Sharks.
Jacob Markstrom - Calgary Flames: Markstrom and the Flames are heating up through the end of 2021. He has just one loss in his past six appearances. Markstrom earned an impressive 40-save win in his last outing against the Los Angeles Kings on December 2nd. He has dressed in 18 contests for Calgary this season, during which he has amassed a record of 10-4-4. He has a save percentage of .939 and a GAA of 1.76. The Flames play the San Jose Sharks, Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins this upcoming week. With the current momentum the entire squad is riding, Markstrom is a must-start.
Ilya Samsonov - Washington Capitals: The Capitals have silenced skeptics that stated the team was past its prime, as they sit on top of the Metropolitan division standings. Samsonov’s play has been a factor in their success, as he has six wins in his past seven starts. During that six-game win streak he earned two shutouts. Samsonov has a record of 9-1-1, along with a save percentage of .915 and a GAA of 2.52. Since his entire club is playing great hockey at the moment, even on off nights Samsonov can still be expected to post good numbers due to the strength of the team around him. The Capitals will play the Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres this week.
Jack Campbell - Toronto Maple Leafs: Toronto is currently the second-best team in the league, and thus playing Campbell in net is an obvious choice. This past week he earned three consecutive wins, and overall he has one loss in his past eight outings. He had a particularly impressive showing against the Anaheim Ducks on November 28th, where he made 39 saves on 40 shots to post a save percentage of .975. Campbell has a record of 13-4-1, with a save percentage of .943 and a GAA of 1.72. The Leafs play the Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks this week.

Good Options
Braden Holtby - Dallas Stars: The Stars have won six straight games, so it is no surprise that two Dallas goalies are on the list this week. Holtby has two consecutive wins under his belt right now, which includes a very impressive 39-save victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in his last outing on November 30th. Holtby has a record of 4-4-1, with his record trending upwards recently. His save percentage sits at .927 and his GAA is at 2.30. If he continues to play the way he has been then Holtby will find himself as a great option in no time.
Laurent Brossoit - Vegas Golden Knights: Brossoit has three consecutive wins in his last three starts. Brossoit does not get the nod often, but when he does he might be an interesting choice in a daily fantasy situation. He has a record of 4-1-0, along with a save percentage of .921 and a GAA of 2.46. Vegas plays the Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers and Minnesota Wild.
Philipp Grubauer - Seattle Kraken: Grubauer has been having an underwhelming season so far, as his transition from Colorado has been a tough one. However, Grubauer has shown some flashes of his old elite level of play recently. He has picked up three wins in his past five games, and all of those three victories came against difficult opponents in the Washington Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers. All three of those teams have very dynamic offenses that Grubauer was able to thwart. He has a record of 7-9-2, along with a save percentage of .891 and 3.02. The 30-year-old remains still largely inconsistent, but should be a netminder to keep an eye on as this calendar year comes to a close.
Bad Options
Alexandar Georgiev - New York Rangers: The go-to netminder for the Rangers, Igor Shesterkin, was injured during the December 3rd game against the San Jose Sharks. Thus, Georgiev entered the game in his place. Head coach Gerard Gallant stated that Shesterkin’s injury was believed to be minor; however, this situation still increases the chances of Georgiev getting playing time. Georgiev has started five games this season for New York, and in three of those five games he allowed at least four goals. He has a record of 2-1-1, along with a save percentage of .867 and a GAA of 3.89.
Semyon Varlamov - New York Islanders: To say the Islanders have been struggling as of late would be an understatement and Varlamov is no exception. He has still yet to earn his first win of the year, as his record sits at 0-4-0. He has a save percentage of .881 and a GAA of 3.46. As of now it does not seem that much is going right for the 33-year-old and it may be time to give up on him as a potential goaltending option this season. The Islanders play the Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils this next week.
