Manchester United's new manager Ralf Rangnick really assesses the players he wants to bring in to his squad.

Some reports claim that Ralf Rangnick will not only be managing Manchester United but will also be involved in the club's recruitment. If the reports are to be true, there's a good chance the Red Devils will pursue a South American star in the upcoming transfer windows.

According to Rangnick's former assistant Rodrigo Costa, the German tactician “loves” to personally scout South American footballers and have already signed a few Brazilians in the past.

“[Rangnick] He came to Brazil and discovered Luiz Gustavo at CRB, in Alagoas,” Costa revealed via ESPN Brasil. “He left Germany to see a player who was in the second division, so you can see how demanding he is. He sends the scouts, but the final word is his because likes to see players in person. He has an amazing eye.”

“Ralf worries more for about tactics and application in training and games than for talent, but he loves Brazilians and South Americans,” he added. “There were always some at the clubs he worked for.”

If there's any, Rangnick has yet to name names that are in his Manchester United transfer wish list. At this point, the only thing certain is that he will be taking on a technical advisor role after managing the club for the remainder of the season.

Rangnick will be making his debut as Manchester United manager when the Old Trafford outfit faces Crystal Palace on Sunday.
