The B1G Championship Game between No. 2 Michigan and No. 13 Iowa is turning out to be one of the most one-sided games this Championship Weekend. Michigan is currently a 13.5-point favorite over Iowa, according to FanDuel.

The biggest knock on Iowa is the lack of overall productivity on the offensive side of the ball. Iowa’s offense ranks 87th in the nation in points per game (25.7) and 123rd in total yards per game (282.7).

The defense, meanwhile, ranks 10th in the nation in points allowed per game (17.2). The Hawkeyes are great at creating turnovers, which is one of the main reasons why they can win this game.

On College GameDay, college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit gave his keys to the game for Iowa to come out with a shocking victory:

“Iowa’s only chance of being in this game and winning it is their defense that we keep talking about,” said Herbstreit. “Phil Parker the DC has a veteran group that makes you earn every single thing, they don’t make mistakes. It’s old-school stuff.

“Iowa’s offense needs a short field. Turnovers, turnover margin has to go their way. This will be a game that Iowa has to make the game ugly to win.”
