The Houdini expected a defensive slog of a matchup last night with the Boston Celtics taking on the Utah Jazz at the Vivint Smart Home Arena, but 267 points later, the Cs came away with a seven-point loss on the first night of a back-to-back.

Tonight, they look to avoid falling back down to .500 as they head to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Portland Trail Blazers.

Portland is coming off of a 31-point blowout loss to the hands of the San Antonio Spurs this past Thursday and will be missing Damian Lillard as he recovers from lower abdominal tendinopathy.

Hardwood Houdini is here to dish out some odds, TV channel info, and a prediction for Saturday night’s action:

Boston Celtics vs. Portland Trail Blazers odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a 1-point favorite against the Trail Blazers on the road. Portland is a +100 home underdog, with the Cs moneyline set at -120. The over/under for the game has been placed at 211.5 points.

Both teams are coming off a loss, though the Cs certainly had a better showing in their last matchup.

Celtics vs. Trail Blazers prediction

Without Damian Lillard, Portland is extremely undermanned and may not have the firepower to match up with a Cs team that has topped their season scoring average two of the past three games.

Jaylen Brown may be out himself for Boston, but his absence didn’t stop the Celtics from putting 130 up on Rudy Gobert and the Jazz on Friday night.

It’s possible that C.J. McCollum puts together an alpha scoring effort, but the Boston Celtics have the perimeter defense to slow him down and force his teammates to beat him…which they may not be capable of doing.

Pick: Celtics -1 (-110)
