Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler were on hand to call the Pac-12 Championship Game between Oregon and Utah, except it wasn’t much of a game at all. It was a blowout.

The Utes thoroughly dominated the Ducks 38-13, and it wasn’t even as close as the score indicates. Utah whipped Oregon. The Utes had better players, better coaches and better execution. It is that simple.

During ABC’s broadcast, Herbstreit shredded the Ducks for the poor play.

“I’m gonna say it,” Herbstreit said during the broadcast. “I’m a huge fan of the Oregon program and have been for a long time. This is an embarrassment on this big of a stage. Playing for a Pac-12 Championship and down 31-3 after two weeks ago losing to this same team 38-7. I was all wound up thinking this was going to be a brawl for 60 minutes, and only one team showed up tonight.”

Fowler then chimed in and echoed Herbstreit’s sentiment.

“I agree,” Fowler said. “It’s inexplicable.”

Utah pounded Oregon twice this season, as the Utes beat the Ducks 38-7 during November.

Herbstreit and the College GameDay crew will be in Atlanta Saturday morning ahead of the SEC Championship Game.
