Yesterday At A Glance opened Calendar when I tapped the date, and no weather info showed up. Just now....tap the date opens Weather. Cool! (not)

I don't know what's going on but my phone is acting up terribly. Ever since something updated over the past couple days my phone freezes, apps crash, widgets literally disappear from my screen and then I can't add them back. It's almost like my phone is acting like an iPhone before a launch making me feel the need to upgrade.
I reset my phone as I was also having app crashes.

I know you guys won't believe me.... but I installed 12 on my pixel 3XL earlier, all 1.65 gigs of it, and it took less than 10 minutes from start to restart of my phone right into 12 ready to go. I had set my screen timeout to 30 minutes expecting it to take at least as long as a monthly security update, which take close to a half hour. I thought for sure something had gone wrong, but no, 12 is working flawlessly...by far the cleanest, fastest, simplest most bug free os upgrade I've ever done on a phone. If this is the future of Android os updates, sign me up!! Lol.

I'm glad I waited for the surprise of the public release... for one I think they really tweaked it to install quickly and easily, but it's also very cool to start enjoying it brand new. I like it :D . With the animation tweaks and overall changes to the look, it feels faster and more sophisticated than 11. I'm running the complete 12 look, icons and all... it's a refreshing change from 11. My wife hated it though, she said it looked too washed out, said it was harder for her to read things overall. I told her it was Google's new pastel look, but she said bah humbug lol.... she's not a fan.

I haven't come across a single bug or glitch yet...so far perfect. Fingers crossed :p

I guess I might have to do a full reset. My home screen live world isn't even on the right continent anymore. Have the new P6 pro coming in a couple weeks so I won't have to deal with this mess much longer.

When you did that, you had to set everything back up again right?
You can choose to download everything again and restore it, generally that seems to work really well. However I was going for clean slate so I told it not to restore any apps, just settings and such (saved wifi, alarms, sms, etc) Yeah had to download apps again but that was by choice, got rid of a bunch.

No at a glance weather on my P5 or my wifes' P5a after the Android 12 update. I made sure and checked both phones and at a glance is on. Par for the course I guess.

At a Glance seems to have some issues. When it first came out in one of the betas it was completely broken. Then it started working for some a week ago because of server side updates by Google. Yesterday with beta 5 everything worked fine for me. But after updating to the stable Android 12, weather opens fine but when I tap the date.... whether opens again instead of Calendar.

Yes, Yes, yes! I 1000% agree with you! After updating the Google in Android 12 beta 5, the added glance weather part of the widget came back. But now whenever you tap on the at a glance widget date part, only the weather app launches. No calendar functionality at all! It's really frustrating.

Just finished updating a couple of hours ago. Wow, impressive for its smoothness and fluidity. The speed is great.
I think android 12 is a real winner. In the other camp of the fruit phones not much of a winner with ios15 at all. I also have an iPhone as backup and so I can test their new betas and ios15 is a massive yawner and pretty much just a dud IMO. Over on macrumors there are quite a few unhappy campers but none the less they stay true to their big Apple no matter what. With this latest android update I no longer have any hankering to switch to my iPhone occasionally. No point as I’d just be back in mere minutes.
Regarding the at a glance bug going to weather rather than calendar I also have that. I’m sure a fix will be incoming sometime. I generally don’t use that feature as I’m mostly always on 3rd party launchers but tested it to see.
Android 12 keeps android fun to use. And so so customizable, gotta love that.

I update both our P5 and P5a and the "at a glance weather" is no where to be found on either device. It seems like every time they do a version update it seems the kill the weather part of "at a glance. I even double checked and "at a glance" is configured for weather. Only thing to do is wait for an update.

Important PSA for people who were in the beta, Google hinted in a subreddit that they are doing another beta from December, most likely aimed at foldables and there is a window of opportunity to unenroll from the beta before December 1st once the stable release has been installed onto your phone, which was Tuesday's update.

More information can be found here

https://www.xda-developers.com/andr...gn=Feed:+xda-developers/ShsH+(xda-developers)

The subreddit is here

https://www.reddit.com/r/android_beta/comments/qbfwtd/android_12_is_here/

And to unenroll click here, select your device and click opt out

https://www.google.com/android/beta#devices

You need to do this before December 1st otherwise your device will be wiped after this date if you opt out later.

Thanks for reading this.
