EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Phil Mitchell will make a shocking, new move over New Year.

Phil (Steve McFadden) will take matters into his own hands when he makes a discovery which leaves him fearful.

He will be left frustrated after Christmas, when Denise tells him he can't see his son Raymond until the New Year.

Determined to support Phil following their issues of late, Kat arrives to see Denise, and asks for a favour.

As a result, Phil is delighted to be spending time with Raymond, but things soon take a worrying turn, leaving Kat determined to do all she can to protect Phil.

When Sharon invites them to The Albert later, she quickly realises that Kat is hiding something. Backed into a corner by Sharon, Kat admits the truth.

Unfortunately, Phil overhears this and wastes no time in confronting Denise. She isn't having any of it, though, and retaliates with a big warning for Phil.

With the situation beginning to spiral, Kat panics when she realises that Sharon knows what Phil is planning.

Meanwhile, Denise is worried about Phil retaliating – and it looks like her fears could be right.

That's because, paparazzi pictures from last month have already given us a fairly good indication of where this story is heading. The photos showed Phil by the seaside in Clacton, having fled Walford with Raymond in tow.

Steve McFadden (Phil), Letitia Dean (Sharon), and Jessie Wallace (Kat) were all filming on location in Clacton-on-Sea for the scenes. But has Phil made a big mistake by taking Raymond without Denise's permission?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday, December 30 and Friday, December 31 on BBC One.
