Do you think he’ll be gone by New Year?
Or will it roll on a little longer ?
Has anybody seen any spoilers regarding this ?
I know it’s the weddings Xmas day but not much info regarding grays exit if he goes then .

I’m hoping it will all get wrapped up for a fresh 2022 but I’m not hopeful.

Depends. I'll be shocked if New Year passes and the truth about him still hasn't been revealed. If they're killing him off, we may not see him alive at all in 2022, if he's staying alive and going to prison instead, we may see him depart at Christmas but return for a mini-stint in 6 weeks or so for his trial and sentencing.

    I prefer Option 2.

If arrested I really bloody hope he gets punished for all three murders. I know there's very little to link the deaths of Chantelle, Tina and Kush together but I think it will lessen the impact if he gets away with murdering one or more of them.

I don’t want to loose Toby in the cast and rather we just keep him to kill of Sharon, Billy, Chelsea, Mitch, Mo and Alfie if they step foot back in Walford). But the story is dragging on now

contract dont run for 3 years? most initial contracts are 6 months, then normally a year thereafter

As for Gray, there is no mention of either him, Chelsea or Whitney after Xmas Day, but neither does it sound like the truth has come out either, so i suspect it will run into 2022

Gray bores the life out of me now. They need to wrap this up pronto. I’ve never known such a boring murderer.

If he kills again, then it's only gonna be Laura and that's just boring and predictable.

He needs to leave ASAP, but it's not gonna happen.

I'll be honest I'm not at all bothered how he leaves the storine lost my respect when they turned a issue lead into a seriel killing fantasy plot just for a ratings boost

    Word!

Why did Jon Sen and his team think this was a good idea!

When is Chelsea's baby due? It'll probably carry on until then.

I just zone out when this story comes on to be honest. I just find it all really boring.

Gray should've been caught out literally a year ago, before he murdered Tina. That would've been the perfect end to the domestic abuse storyline. Instead, Oates/Sen have cheapened it by turning it into some serial killer story.

Having said that, I'd love to hear how Toby-Alexander Smith feels about the change in the storyline. He's been very passionate about highlighting domestic violence as a result of the DV storyline, becoming an ambassador for Women's Aid, even running the London Marathon in support of the charity. EE have done that storyline - and Toby, to be honest - a total injustice.

Is Toby Alexander Smith still filming?

Against my own expectations, he's become one of the handful of characters that are working for me. Long may he reign.

What do we think happens to Mac and Mia if he does either go down or get killed off?

    Obviously Karen will take them.

I think it would be realistic if the character took them to the grave with him. People like that sometimes do - they see their children as belonging to them in a literal sense. It would be a very dark storyline, but it does happen.

Apparently, some fans saw him filming in mid-October, which if true, means he'll be on screen until at least January/February, given they're filming (I think) four months ahead.

I agree it would be realistic, and he nearly did it when he tried to blow the house up, but I think that would just be too harrowing to watch for me.

The viewers were told (what now feels like eons ago) that Gray had now entered the final chapter of his story .. and it goes on .. and on .. 😴 Feels like it is neverending, I agree with many other posters - it's incredibly boring and tedious now and it's a struggle to stay interested.

Of course, it is also impossible to get past the fact that such an important storyline with huge potential was tossed aside in favour of the now well-trodden and completely unoriginal serial-killer-on-the-loose-under- everyone's-noses-trope - yawn. It's blindingly obvious Gray is going to strike again (yawn) and pretty easy to predict who his next victim (yawn) will be .. just end it now before the intense boredom gets the better of the majority of us!

If Gray dies or goes unpunished, I fear for my television's safety! The only way this storyline can be saved for me and hold my interest now, is if we're thrown a massive curveball regarding the next victim - and the story ends exactly where it began - with the overdue and long-awaited justice for poor Chantelle. There doesn't even need to be a fourth murder, just punish Gray accordingly for his appalling crimes. Waiting ..

I don't mind. Its a soap opera. Many victims of crime go without justice. The only hackneyed old trope is the idea that soap villains have to get their comeuppance, and even better, get it for a festive viewers treat with a bow wrapped round it. My television set will remain intact, whatever is done with the character.

I agree - I thought he was a great actor back in 2019, but since the serial killer part began, I think his acting has been appalling with lots of scenes of Gray's 'broken wind' face, which I presume is meant to be him being murderously psychopathically angry. It makes me wonder if he finds the serial killer development as tasteless as the rest of us and has stopped trying as a result!

Toby isn't the only one to have been done an injustice - Jessica Plummer as well. Chantelle's final scene was brilliant, and EE has just completely pissed all over it. Not to mention Luisa and Davood who were stupidly axed and killed off.

Probably not, as that would be really unprofessional. He's getting well paid for a job. If he objected to the scripts that much, he could've resigned. I think most actors are mature enough to realize that playing characters they don't morally approve of is part and parcel of acting.

If we don't have confrontation scenes featuring Karen, Mitch, Martin and Shirley, I'll be very disappointed.

    Karen and Mitch for Chantelle
    Martin for Kush
    Shirley for Tina
