“I’ve been hearing people say, ‘Kevin passed away, but I didn’t believe it, we didn’t believe it,” Carlos Gomez, Kevin’s friend.
The friends say Kevin and his family left the front door open as they were bringing in groceries last night.
The dog ran out, and the teenager desperately chased after him into a busy intersection here at MLK Boulevard.
They were both struck by a car.
His dog died instantly, and Kevin later died at UMC Hospital.
“We put down candles, flowers, and we wrote something nice on the poster,” said another friend.
The friends say they want to remember the good times they shared with their friends.
“He’s short, but he was very funny. We always made fun of him, but at the same time it was for jokes, he always laughed. It was for love and we cared about him and he was a very caring person,” said Carlos.
And they plan to support Kevin’s mom through this difficult time.
“And we told her we’ll help her out with anything and if she needs us to contact us,” Steven Ramirez, Kevin’s Friend.
