MARTINS FERRY — Nutcrackers can be seen from the upper level and The Christmas House dominates the view as one enters the Martins Ferry Public Library.

The Christmas House received its finishing touches on Tuesday, while other programs are winding down.

Toddler Tales, which has run from Sept. 15, will end on Dec. 9. Sessions are at 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. Thursdays. They are for children ages 6-24 months with spaces limited. Call 740-633-0314 to register for future sessions.

Storytime is another program that will end soon. It has run from Sept. 14 and will end Dec. 8. Sessions are at 1 p.m. Tuesdays and 11 a.m. Wednesdays. Ages 2-plus are encouraged to attend, with spaces also limited.

The programs will start again during the week of Jan. 10.

One for adults may scare you. It is called Murder Mystery Book Club. This will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 21.

The title of the book to be read is, “Little Deaths,” by Emma Flint. Spaces are also limited, and people are urged to call to register.

Children’s Librarian Anessa Keifer said she will be showing cartoons all day Dec. 4 during the library’s own Winterfest program, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“I’m showing the PBS cartoons all day … and there’s going to be some crafts for them to pick up and take home,” Keifer said.
