Love the guy, but he'd be more of a "players manager". Mets need a taskmaster. Showalter wins Manager of the Year every 10 years. He's due again in 2024. Hire him and wait 3 seasons.

Curtis Granderson could be a bench coach and Adam Jones could be a base coach under Buck Showalter. They could learn from his experience. Neither is ready to go straight to head coach.
