In its 130-year-history, the city of Ontario had never experienced one before — a Christmastime parade.

But on Friday evening, Dec. 3, the first-ever Ontario Holiday Light Parade came down Euclid Avenue from I Street to B Street, as onlookers watched along the route.

The parade consisted of 63 entries, from floats with colorful lights, to youth groups and marching bands.

“We had a good mix of entries,” said city spokesman Dan Bell.

When the parade arrived at the Ontario Town Square, Santa jumped from his sleigh and posed for pictures with kids. The tree-lighting ceremony was overseen by members of the City Council and was followed by live entertainment.
