Woman seriously injured when struck by train at Old Town Transit Center

A woman remained hospitalized Friday, a day after she was struck by a train at the Old Town Transit Center in San Diego, a sheriff’s official said.
The incident happened just after 2 p.m. Thursday as a southbound Amtrak train entered the station, Sgt. Jason King said.
The woman had been sitting on the edge of the platform, with her legs hanging over the tracks. She may have been leaning forward when she was hit by the Amtrak train, he said.
She sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
