Broken Bow man died following crash near Oconto

OCONTO, Neb. —
A Broken Bow man died following a crash near Oconto early Friday morning.

According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly before 6 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 21, one mile south of Oconto.
The sheriff’s office said Daniel Jacobson, 65, was traveling north on Highway 21 in a 2011 Maxda 2 when he struck an unoccupied 2007 Chevrolet pickup that was parked on the roadway. The pickup had been involved in a prior, unrelated rollover crash.
Jacobson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the Mazda.

Oconto Fire and Rescue, Broken Bow Rescue, Nebraska Department of Roads, Trumbull Repair and Towing and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted with the investigation.
