ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Video surveillance from one of the Escambia County businesses involved in Friday morning's deadly wreck shows the moments the car crashed into a building.
Video sent to Channel 3 from The Vape Shop on Beverly Parkway shows the car race across the parking lot. It's on the screen for less than a second before you see smoke and debris.
The crash killed two Pensacola men -- ages 21 and 22. Both were passengers in the car. The third passenger -- a 27-year-old Pensacola man -- is in the hospital in critical condition.
By Friday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said they identified the driver -- although they're not releasing his name or any of the passengers names. The driver suffered injuries to his leg.
"Hit our sign, hit our side of the building over here and then toppled over a couple times and landed in the building next door," said Dante Streater, owner of In The Cut Barbershop on Beverly Parkway.
Channel 3 also obtained a Snapchat video of the moments prior to the crash. It shows a passenger and driver in the car involved.
The video zooms in to show the speedometer -- topping 140 miles per hour. The passenger's caption states: "he bout to kill me."
"I'm numb right now, I don't really know how to feel," Streater said.
Friends of the victims gathered at the scene Friday morning.
Jahcane Jones says the community lost a shining light.
"Demetrius -- loved 'em, Demarius -- loved him," he said. "Great basketball player, great DJ, great family friend and father. There's a lot going through my mind right now. ...When you see your families and your close ones, just love on 'em because you just never know."
FHP continues to investigate the crash.
