Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Zeedan found himself at a crossroads when the Speed Daal van got stolen and Hashim demanded his money back.

In tonight's episode (December 3), the restaurant's vehicle disappeared when Debbie found out that Zeedan beat her to the run for the last pitch at the Christmas market and devised a plan to put a spanner in the Speed Daal's clogs.

When they realised what happened Alya wanted to call the police, but Zeedan told her it's not a good idea as the van contained the cash that Hashim asked him to launder.

Unfortunately, Hashim found out he required Zeedan to return him the dirty money as well as the money that Zeedan stole from him immediately. And when Zeedan told him he could not make that much money in one day since the van was stolen and the restaurant was closed, Hashim suggested he burn down the restaurant and claim the insurance money.

Zeedan was initially reluctant as he did not want to be responsible for burning down what he worked so hard to build, but since Hashim was threatening to hurt his grandmother, Zeedan went along with the plan.

Hashim arranged for his men to burn down the Speed Daal, so all Zeedan had to do was leave the door open. He had a last look at the restaurant and gave a nod to some suspicious-looking men before heading off.

But little did he know that Stu was inside as he was asked by Yasmeen to prepare a meal to prove that he had the skills needed to work at the restaurant. When he saw the flames, Stu did his best to put them out, but the fire was already soaring and the smoke immediately knocked him out making it impossible for him to leave the kitchen.

When Billy arrived at their house to let them know of the fire, Zeedan was horrified to find out someone was inside. They immediately ran to the restaurant and Zeedan rushed in to recover an unconscious Stu.

While Yasmeen headed to the hospital to check on Stu, Alya made her feeling known to Zeedan telling him she would never forgive him for what he's done. And while she agreed to help with the cover-up, she wanted Zeedan out of the house the next day.

In the hospital, Yasmeen revealed Stu had suffered lung damage and might not make it. She also told Zeedan and Alya that the fire brigade had established that the fire was started by the deep-fat fryer catching light, to which Zeedan suggested it may have been Stu who left it on by mistake.

Alya looked at him in disgust and after a moving speech from Yasmeen about losing them, Alya allowed Zeedan to stay home. However, Alya told Zeedan that if Stu doesn't make it, she would go to the police and tell on Zeedan and Hashim.

Could Stu actually be responsible for the fire? Or could it have been the broken dishwasher that Alya was trying to get repaired? And if Hashim's henchmen actually did it, will Zadeen be successful in framing Stu?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
