‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ Star John Schneider Responds To Alec Baldwin Claims In Gun Accident

Alec Baldwin did an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos and claimed he did not pull the trigger on the gun that killed Halyna Hutchins. It all happened on the set of the film Rust. Alec claimed, “Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger. No, no, no, no. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.” Now, Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider shared his opinion.

He talked about the whole situation on his YouTube channel. He first shared that he didn’t believe that George Stephanopoulos was the right person for this interview. He also doesn’t believe that the interview should have happened to make Alec look so innocent.

John said, “This is all designed to make us feel sorry for Alec Baldwin. Especially this. ‘As you can imagine,’ Stephanopoulos said. ‘He is devastated, but he was also very candid he was very forthcoming. He answered every question. He talked about Halyna; meeting with her family. He went into detail and I have to tell you I was surprised in many places over the course of that hour and twenty minutes we sat down yesterday.’”

John added, “Are we to believe that a gun went off by itself? Are we to believe that someone didn’t pull a trigger? Are we to believe that somehow, magically, on the first part of your teary-eyed nonsensical journalism that we believe that Alec didn’t pull the trigger?” In the video, John also pleads for law enforcement to continue their investigation and not to believe everything that is being said.

John is no stranger to using guns on set and knows the safety protocols that should be used. He continued, “Usually people who are handed a weapon that are cocked, it doesn’t ever happen really, but I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt. Usually, they shoot their own foot off because the first thing you do is put the gun down by your side and the weight of the gun will pull it just a little bit and you’ll shoot your foot.”
