Their posters were accompanied by a publicity shot that showed Ghostface himself in his mask and hood raising a knife for the kill.

Directed by horror impresario Wes Craven, the original Scream in 1996 made Neve and David into stars, while Courteney had already become a sensation on Friends.

The picture also brought David and Courteney together as a romantic couple in real life, and they got married in 1999.

Although they split in 2013 they amicably co-parent their daughter Coco, 17, and are co-starring in the new Scream directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

There's Courteney: In an mysterious touch each of them is holding up the Ghostface mask - which is part of a disguise used by various murderers in the franchise

Wes Craven not only directed the original movie but also its first three sequels before dying of a brain tumor in 2015, four years after Scream 4 was released.

Neve, Courteney and David all starred in all four of the previous Scream movies before returning for the fifth which is just called Scream.

Throughout the series Neve's character Sidney Prescott is the leading lady who faces off against the various killers that hide behind the Ghostface persona.

Wow: All three of their posters also have the same tagline adding another eerie layer to the proceedings: 'It's always someone you know'; David's poster is pictured

Meanwhile David stars as Deputy Sheriff Dewey Riley and Courteney as reporter Gale Weathers, who become a couple in the movies as the actors did in life.

While the identity of Ghostface changes from movie to movie, the culprits use a voice changer while in disguise.

As a result Ghostface has been consistently voiced through the franchise by Roger L. Jackson who is returning for the new movie, out January 14.
