N.H. woman arrested after mother’s body discovered in home nearly 6 months after death

Investigation shows mom’s Social Security payments were still deposited during that time

BEDFORD, N.H. — A Bedford, N.H. woman has been arrested after it was discovered that her mother’s body had been kept in the suspect’s home for nearly six months after she died, a public relations firm that represents the Bedford Police Department reported Friday.

That woman, identified as 54-year-old Kimberly K. Heller, was charged with Abuse of a Corpse, which is a Class B misdemeanor. Police said that her mother, who died just before Memorial Day in May 2021, died of natural causes, per an autopsy from the N.H. Medical Examiner.

Bedford Police searched the home on Ministerial Court in the town on October 25 after family requested a wellness check on Heller’s mother, who, investigation shows, had not been seen by family members for multiple months.

Heller will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack, N.H. on Jan. 6, 2022.

“Additionally, Bedford Police have contacted the federal Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General, and are coordinating with the Inspector General’s investigation as the investigation indicated that Heller’s mother’s Social Security payments were still being deposited into her bank account in the months following her death,” the official release reads.
