PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - An amendment has been made to the lawsuit filed by Mark Harris against Wood County Commission, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, and retired Sheriff Steve Stephens.

Harris is a court officer employed by the sheriff’s department who claims retired Sheriff Steve Stephens mistreated him while Stephens was his boss.

The amended complaint has three additional causes of action, bringing the total to four.

The original complaint gave intentional infliction of emotional distress/tort of outrage as a cause of action.

The amended complaint adds negligent retention, negligent training, and violation of the West Virginia Whistleblower Law as causes.

The amendment was filed on December 1.
