Adrian Woman Dies in Truck vs. Tractor Crash Near Onsted

Onsted, MI – An Adrian woman died at the scene of a truck vs. tractor crash near Onsted Thursday evening.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the crash at approximately 7:34pm on Gilbert Highway south of Teachout Road in Rome Township. Information provided to Lenawee County Central Dispatch was that the female driver of the pickup truck was possibly deceased.

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, a 2005 Chevy pickup was traveling southbound on Gilbert Highway south of Teachout Road when it struck head-on a New Holland farm tractor traveling northbound. The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old female from Adrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor, a 19-year-old male from Tipton, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Cambridge Fire Department.

The crash is being investigated by the Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team to determine the cause of the crash and if the driver of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt and if alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team and Cambridge Township Fire Department.
