Imperial Dade’s latest acquisition – its 44th under the leadership of Robert and Jason Tillis, chief executive officer and president, respectively – will strengthen its presence in the Southeast, according to the Jersey City-based company.

On Dec. 2, Imperial Dade announced the addition of Nashville’s American Paper & Twine, a leading distributor of janitorial, packaging, food service, safety and office products with 95 years of experience.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Led by Bob Doochin and Karen Doochin Vingelen, the company said APT is known for its knowledgeable sales team, wide array of products and high touch customer service.

The addition allows Imperial Dade to better reach customers, and bolsters its position nationally as the leader in specialty distribution, according to the company.

“This acquisition is the next step in our ability to serve customers coast to coast as a national distributor,” said Jason Tillis.

At APT, Doochin Vingelen said that the resources that come with combining with Imperial Dade will help to accelerate the company’s recent growth.

Last month, Imperial Dade started November with the announcement of its 43rd acquisition: Nichols Paper & Supply.
