The New York Giants come into Sunday’s game with a 4-7 record and not a lot of hope to make the playoffs, something they haven’t done since 2016. It’s certainly not something they’ve done since Daniel Jones took over as starting quarterback.
So maybe a change at the signal-caller, even if temporarily, could be a spark. We’ll find out this Sunday when the Giants take on the Miami Dolphins and Mike Glennon will get the start. Jones, who has been dealing with injuries, has not been cleared for contact and will not play.
Jones is still dealing with the lingering effects of a neck injury from the win over the Eagles and was limited in practice this week. Glennon will get the start against the Dolphins while Jake Fromm, who was just signed, will serve as the Giants’ backup.
Glennon, who was a third-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013, is no stranger to starting. He started 27 games in his career, most recently last season for the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game where he threw two touchdowns. It’s worth noting that Glennon is 6-21 as a starter, though he’s also played on some pretty bad teams in his NFL career.

Chances are, things won’t go too well for the Giants this weekend. However, if Glennon can lead them to victory, who knows. The Giants need something, anything, to get them going in a positive direction. They’ll take what they can get.
