Brown (thumb) practiced Friday and should return from injured reserve in the near future, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
The center won't be activated for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay but could rejoin the lineup shortly thereafter. Brown has missed seven consecutive games with the thumb injury, which he suffered Nov. 16.
