St. Joseph sees surge in COVID-19 cases

A surge in COVID-19 cases is being reported by the St. Joseph Health Department.

Health officials report 70 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, 101 on Wednesday, and 82 on Thursday.

The increases since the health department last reported on Monday confirms that northwest Missouri is a coronavirus hotspot.

The Buchanan County coronavirus positivity rate is just below 10%, at 9.82%.

Mosaic Life Care reports treating 48 COVID-19 patients in its system; 39 in St. Joseph, seven in Maryville, and two in Albany.
